Community and us
Sakaar is the name we ascribe to our Corporate Social Responsibility efforts to help make a difference within the community. The name is derived from the Hindi word ‘Sakaar’, which means ‘to realize, fulfil or achieve’.

Since the launch of Sakaar in 2001, whether it’s promoting various career development programs, running healthcare boot camps, or contributing to donation drives, we ensure that our corporate social responsibility programs add value to the community one step at a time.

Our objective is simple – promoting learning and development, empowering young adults, developing strong leaders, and championing for the advancement of the community through various initiatives and long-term partnerships. We take our company social responsibility seriously and work closely with established social organizations and support new initiatives each year.
Recent Sakaar activity

Extentia’s Annual Blood Donation Drive

Blood is meant to be circulated, and as part of our corporate social responsibility program Sakaar, Extentia has always ensured this happens! We had a blood donation drive on June 12, 2018. Ninety three enthusiastic Extentians came forward and supported this cause generously. Several of our office attendants donated blood as well. Extentia’s ‘Infinite’ house organized the drive in association with KEM Hospital. The blood collected will be to support hospital procedures, such as emergency transfusions, and for the treatment of long-term illnesses.

Extentians Conduct Skill Communication Workshop with FoC

Several Extentians were part of a workshop conducted for Friends of Children’s (FoC) students. The sessions included theoretical materials about people’s communicative abilities, games based on the theory of communication skills and the necessity for feedback. They also talked about – opportunities to establish contact in various communication situations, the importance of non-verbal communication and its impact on one’s personality. They gave insights on things to take care of while appearing for interviews. Also highlighted the benefits of being able to express the thoughts clearly and present oneself with confidence at the time of interview.

Extentians organize a session on ‘Unconscious Bias’ for the FoC

Surbhi recently conducted a session on ‘Unconscious Bias’ for the FoC students at Narayangaon. The training began with an exercise demonstrating how the mind operates in ways that are outside of conscious awareness or control. The exercise highlighted the role of inbuilt beliefs and attitudes that affect our judgments about individuals or their groups in different spheres of life, as opposed to a balanced, rational approach. While it is difficult to completely remove the unconscious bias, it helps when one is more aware and alert while taking decisions. The students also shared their day-to-day life experiences where they encountered unconscious bias. The session was well received and enjoyed by everyone.
